OUR MISSION
Our goal as a club is to help our members develop skills that they perhaps have not been taught in school or at home, but are absolutely necessary for success when living independently. We hope to instill in those who attend the idea that these skills are not only important, but also interesting and fun!
We are achieving this goal through weekly meetings during our lunch break, when an experienced adult will come and give a short lecture, presentation, or demonstration about their designated topic.
"It first occurred to me that a club like this should be created when watching my older brother go off to college.
He is an extremely smart person when it comes to STEM skills, however certain basic living skills somehow eluded his learning.
I remember him trying to mend a hole in his pants at college with the most horrendous stitching, and another time when he texted us asking how to make pasta.
I realized then that while High School was preparing us for college, it was sort of failing to prepare us for life- and thus the PSYCH club was born."
